Morgan & Tom – Hacienda Camino al Mar

There is nothing more romantic that a villa wedding attended by a small, intimate group of the couple’s family and friends. Morgan and Tom planned a celebration inclusive of their nearest and dearest and provided them with a complete experience – vows on the sand, old world Mexican villa, candlelit dinner, Latin music, scrumptious menu, rooftop reception and last, but not least, fireworks and churros back at the beach!

Cocktail tables, a unique bench and pitchers of refreshing Horchata water awaited as guests arrived at the villa for brief street-side mingling before heading down the cobblestone street to the nearby beach for the exchange of vows.

The group meandered the bougainvillea-lined street to the beach and was seated at a combination of chairs and wooden pews before a simply-draped ceremony canopy featuring crystal chandeliers.

Meanwhile, back at the villa, the bride and her father prepared for the walk to the beach.

Morgan carried a beautiful and natural bouquet of lisianthus, roses, spray roses, argentina, amaranth and seeded eucalyptus.

Down on the beach, the groom waited expectantly for the lovely bride to arrive . . .

The beautiful ceremony ended with a kiss and the new husband and wife exited with pep in their step!

Guests toasted with a glass of champagne and nibbled on Mexican wedding cookies while photos were taken on the beach.

As beachside photographs came to an end, guests wandered back down the cobblestone street to Hacienda Camino al Mar, an amazing old-world style villa set just a block off the beach. Cocktail tables with simple natural arrangements in mercury glass vessels sat beneath crystal chandeliers and provided a comfortable area for guests to relax while being served an amazing assortment of appetizers prepared by Plush.

Following cocktails, guests moved to the poolside dinner area where one long family-style table was set. The rustic wooden tables were highlighted with gauzy and chocolate brown runners, set with cut glassware and beautified with natural, loose floral arrangements interspersed with floating candles elevated at different heights on mercury glass bases. Menus were set beneath clear glass chargers, and a selection of the chairs were highlighted with the same gauzy fabric as the runner to add an extra point of interest at the table.

Chandeliers floated overhead, and as the sun set, their warm glow along with the plethora of candles on the table and in the surrounding areas provided perfect lighting into the nighttime.

Following a round of toasts, the couple cut into their simple, textured two-layer cake while guests looked on from nearby (the youngsters hoping for the first piece)!

Guests moved upstairs to the rooftop terrace for more drinks and dancing! The couple provided a sweet surprise – Hostess Snowballs (their favorite treat) – to all of their guests inside vintage stands.

As a late-night surprise, the bride and groom led guests back to the beach where a live churro station and fireworks awaited as a spectacular end to the evening’s festivities!

Monica & Fernando – Casa Garza Blanca

Monica and Fernando’s wedding week provided unexpected challenges as an unprecedented May hurricane off the coast of Vallarta brought cloudy skies and rainy days to the Bay. And despite the popular saying that rain brings blessings, no bride or groom ever envisions saying their “I dos” in paradise with cloudy skies and raindrops falling. In a true testament to their love, however, this couple handled the stress of a rainy day with smiles and found later on that the uninvited weather added even more romance to their wedding photos. A beautiful bride, a dapper groom, pink peonies, candle-lit lanterns, vintage compasses and unexpected umbrellas add romance to just about anything!
Monica and Fernando arranged their ceremony at the Guadalupe Church in downtown Puerto Vallarta and then invited guests back to Casa Garza Blanca (now known as La Mansion) for an evening of cocktails, delicious food, dancing and fun!

With Mexico in the groom’s blood, Mariachi was a necessity, and the couple led the 10-piece band with trumpets sounding in to the cocktail reception!

And while Monica and Fernando stole kisses in the rain for the photographer, guests enjoyed passed appetizers including bacon-wrapped shrimp and bruschetta (to name a few) and cocktails beneath a tented lounge area!

Guests were asked to leave a message in a bottle for the bride and groom to read later on!

And we were excited by the unique opportunity to create our hand-painted signs in Spanish for this couple’s wedding! An arrow indicating upper level dinner and dancing was placed at the base of the stairway.

Guests found their seating assignments inside vintage compasses that the bride brought to duplicate as favors for guests.

At the top of the staircase, additional signs directed guests to both sides of the garden where dinner tables were set with elegant white linens, navy and white striped napkins and featured beautiful blooming peonies, messages in vintage bottles, curly willow and candles galore! So romantic!

The simple wedding cake was beautiful by itself, but an extra compass and a few blooms added a really beautiful vintage style to the tasty creation!

And amazingly enough, despite the drizzle that lasted all evening long, the sky cleared just enough for Monica and Fernando to enjoy their grand display of fireworks!

Working outdoor weddings in the rain can be such a challenge, but the bride, groom, guests and vendors that participated in this day brought such positivity and love that the sunshine wasn’t even missed.

Amanda & Tim – Dreams PV

Amanda and Tim described their wedding as a party full of color – pinks, purples and greens with lots of sparkly! This couple’s love, tried and true to a great extent even before wedding day, was so evident in their vows, the support from their family and friends and in the amazing celebration of life and love that lasted into the night!

Amanda is one of those super-cool girly girls. She has long blond curls and can get away with wearing lots of ruffles and bright lipstick . . . and that’s on a regular day! And she is one of those brides that lights up and looks even more radiant on wedding day, like she walked straight off the pages of a magazine. So watching Amanda walk down the aisle carrying a bright, classic rose bouquet (with a touch of feathery flare and sparkle, of course) was like watching a dream come true.

The scene was set with a simple natural canopy strung with tropical orchids and a petal-lined ceremony aisle.
Personalized maracas set on each chair awaited their crazy shake at the couple’s kiss!

The bride and groom invited guests back to Oceana Restaurant for lounging, cocktails, appetizers and Coco Locos!!!

Guests took places at their dinner tables and found a stone hand-painted with the word love – a special detail in the couple’s relationship – at each of their place settings. And following lots of happy chit-chat and some truly heart-warming toasts, the cake – boasting a beautiful cascade of roses – was cut and served!

Congratulations to Amanda and Tim – a couple we know was meant to be together in good times and bad, in sickness and health – forever and ever! Thank you for sharing your amazing wedding day with us! Cheers to a very long and happy future as husband and wife!

Natalie & Kevin – Dreams PV

Truth be told, Natalie contracted The Dazzling Details before she and Kevin were officially engaged, and we loved receiving that “We’re Engaged!” message in our mail boxes. This couple wanted a wedding that screamed beachy rustic with a few modern touches and some definite sparkle! With a color palette of taupe, beige, white, coral and the incorporation of linen and burlap, their vision came to life on the sand!

Natalie carried a rustic white bouquet that perfectly complimented her lovely gown, but the most beautiful part of this event was the sheer love that radiated on both of their faces throughout the entire evening!

The rustic tree branch canopy was complimented with chiffon sheers that blew in the breeze and lines of hanging crystals. Modern ghost chairs made the set up even more serene, adding a calming yet chic vibe to the beach area.

Coral chevron fabric was used in subtle touches throughout the decor upon the bride’s request (and love for the design)! Ceremony program covers were created from the fabric and secured with rustic twine. Maracas customized with their monogram logo were available for all guests to shake at the kiss!

A jute aisle runner embroidered with the couple’s monogram logo also greeted guests as they arrived to the scene.

Natalie walked down the aisle toward the groom with her father, and although I think all brides are radiant at this moment, Natalie literally glowed with happiness!

Maracas sounded like crazy at the kiss, and the happy couple walked back down the aisle to the cheers of her family and friends!

Cocktail lounging areas were set to the sides of the dance floor, and a balance between modern clean pillows and jute table linens achieved Natalie’s vision on the beach!

Guests enjoyed coral-colored cocktails and prepared themselves for a night of fun and romance beneath the stars.

Hand-made escort cards on jute hung in the breeze on clotheslines; each cart displayed a sweet and individual touch – sand hearts, Mexican fabric bunting, chevron swatch, hand-painted blocks and more!

Dinner tables were set with crisp white linens, silverware was tucked into sweet chevron pouches, and silver vases held soft, romantic floral arrangements.

The groom and his family’s love for hockey was an element we simply could not overlook! After thinking long and hard about how to incorporate hockey into the soft, romantic beach wedding, we hand-painted hockey pucks with table numbers, mounted them on framed jute and added a touch of chevron to the look – and they were a hit!

As the cocktail hour came to an end, guests took their seats at tables and cheered as the bride and groom twirled to the center for their first dance!

Dinner was filled with a genuine display of love from their family and friends through a round of heart-warming toasts. A beautiful coral chevron cake was sliced into, and then the real dancing began!

After hours of non-stop dancing fun, the couple surprised guests to a stunning display of fireworks, and sent their crowd oohing and aahing off into the starry night!

Congratulations to Natalie and Kevin! What an amazing couple full of love, genuine kindness and sincere gratitude.

Suzi & Donovan – Casa Garza Blanca

Suzi and Donovan landed in our laps just four months before their wedding date. By the time they spoke to us, their wedding had literally been planned by someone else, somewhere else. Following a visit to Vallarta, however, they realized that what had been planned wasn’t necessarily their dream come true.

So we started from scratch – a bride with a vision, The Dazzling Details team on her side, new location, new plan, new everything. And what resulted was absolutely a dream come true (as can clearly be seen in the bride’s expression as she meandered through the villa upon arrival at the venue on wedding day)!

Suzi and Donovan did the extraordinary. Rather than throwing a huge wedding celebration at home, they instead hosted 54 of their closest family and friends in Vallarta for an intimate and unforgettable weekend of sheer fun and memory-making! Wedding day began with beautifying at the Barcelo Hotel, just minutes from Casa Garza Blanca, their “new” wedding venue.

When the ladies arrived at the villa in the afternoon, the venue had been transformed with beautiful blooms, personal touches and dazzling details in every nook and cranny. Suzi had stressed the importance to her of the phrase “Love who you Love,” a sentiment so close to her heart that she even boasted the tattoo on her body. The quote appeared throughout the day in the rustic glam decor, from ceremony to reception.

Ceremony seating was an eclectic blend of benches, chairs, pews and a vintage sofa. Flower-filled boxes lined the aisle leading up to a ceremony canopy draped with chiffon and beautiful blooms.

While the bride and groom took romantic photographs, the guests mingled in the poolside cocktail lounges, feasting on appetizers and specialty drinks.

To liven things up a bit, a Mexican-themed photo station was set nearby, and guests styled themselves a la Mexicana, taking Polaroid shots throughout the evening and displaying them for all to see.

As cocktail hour came to an end, the group was invited downstairs to the private beach area where rustic tables were set beneath a twinkle-lit tent. Escort cards were displayed uniquely in an antique furniture piece, and hand-painted signs pointed guests in the direction of their dinner tables.

A “shoe shelf” was set nearby for convenience, and paintbrushes were provided to dust off the sand once dinner was complete.

Blown-glass hearts atop each place setting were used as the bride took a moment to honor those close to her who had battled with cancer.

After dinner, guests were invited back up to the pool terrace where the ceremony canopy had been converted into a dessert table – complete with an elegant wedding cake surrounded by delicious bites . . . even a sweet surprise for the groom!

After dancing and more dancing, fire dancers provided the grand finale, and guests “oohed” and “aahed” into the night!

Congratulations to Suzi and Donovan, an absolutely amazing couple whose love for their family, friends and each other was evident in each decision made and every detail along the way. We loved our whirlwind planning with you, and can’t wait to do it again soon! (Birthday party anyone?)

Tara & Will – Casa China Blanca

Tara and Will described their wedding vision as modern, fresh and quirky. The groom described his bride as a “ball of sunshine,” so it was only appropriate that yellow enter the color palette for this day of celebration. An intimate group of family and friends gathered at Casa China Blanca for a spectacular wedding full of love, fun and . . . horseshoes!!!

Tara and Will opted not to have a “first look” but did take an adorable shot around the corner from one another pre-ceremony!

The ceremony took place beneath the China Blanca tree, and simple signs hung nearby with key phrases from their personalized ceremony script.



Following the vows, guests were invited to cocktails around the pool terrace with a celebratory round of horseshoes for the more competitive crowd!

As a special nod to the tree beneath which they said their vows, a local artist painted the scene and guests signed the tree branches of the painting in lieu of a traditional guest book.

Guests were invited to dinner at one long family-style table featuring centerpieces in textures and shapes that spoke to the modern taste of the couple yet still felt comfortable and elegant.

Tara and Will twirled to their first dance once guests were all seated and sipping wine, then joined the group for an evening of love-filled toasts and good cheer!

To sweeten the evening even more, a cupcake bar was opened adding a perfect ending touch to a perfect evening!

Congratulations to Tara and Will! You were a joy to work with from start to finish!

Loren & Drew – Dreams PV

Loren and Drew allowed their personal taste to really inspire their wedding vision: modern and fun yet filled with romance. A touch of vintage – particularly through the use of wrought iron and antique sea creatures. An absolute passion for geometric patterns and shapes. Blending all of these elements into this couple’s beach wedding and reception was a welcome challenge! We started with the couple’s wedding invitation suite, and developed an amazing wedding from there!

The bride’s bouquet was a blend of magenta, blue and purple-toned blooms, and we added in the pop of white and black anemone as a splash of contrast! The bride herself donned a lovely gown and super-chic birdcage veil, and she really rocked the look!

Guests were welcomed to the beach ceremony with a sign that pointed them in the right direction! Vows and rings were exchanged beneath a romantic canopy bordered by vibrant florals and chiffon sheers. Guest chairs were flanked by wrought iron chandelier arrangements that added a bit more privacy to the area. Bold-patterned pillows were used as backrests on the ceremony chairs, and personalized maracas welcomed guests to make some noise at the kiss!

While the couple had their photos taken on the beach, the guests mingled in beach lounge areas!

As the cocktail hour came to a close, guests found their places at dinner tables with escort and place cards featuring the bride and groom’s requested antique sea creatures!

Dinner tables were set beneath colorful draped chiffon and individually lit with romantic twinkle lights. Patterned fabric was wrapped around vases to add a bold touch to the dinner table!

The bride and groom whirled onto the dance floor once guests were seated for dinner, and then took their seats amidst their guests to enjoy an evening of dinner, emotion and toasting!

The wedding cake was a simple replication of the design featured on the couple’s stationery, and following the traditional cutting, guests took to the dance floor and showed off their moves all night long!

And as a grand finale, the bride and groom surprised their guests with an amazing display of fireworks that ended the night with a fantastic WOW!

Amber & Chris – Casita Camino del Mar

A love for travel, adventure, and the great outdoors were a few of the things that attracted Amber and Chris to each other when they met over six years ago. And those same elements along with a strong love of close family and friends were what brought them to choose a destination wedding in Puerto Vallarta! And not just any destination wedding . . . the wedding experience this couple planned for their eight guests was organic, natural, full of neutral tones and varied textures not to mention gorgeous details – an amazingly intimate and unforgettable celebration!

The bride wore a stunning Vera Wang gown for the wedding, and despite the rainy day, she was breathtaking from beginning to end!

All the florals were designed to be completely natural and organic looking; we blended calla lilies, scabiosa, fresh aromatic rosemary, lisianthus, statice, greenery and curly willow for the bride’s bouquet and groom’s boutonniere.

For the first time in nearly a decade, Puerto Vallarta saw rain fall in February! Despite the insistent drizzle, Amber and Chris decided to move forward with the ceremony on the beach and just in time for the wedding start, the rain stopped and a light from the sky literally illuminated the bride and groom while they said their vows! We chose to build a round canopy with draping pearl chiffon for the couple to make the space feel cozier; guests were seated on wooden benches and the aisle wrapped around the side of guests rather than down through the middle so that the group felt very cohesive and not divided on two sides of an aisle!

Maracas, hand-painted with the couple’s initials and date, were given to guests before the ceremony and then shook like crazy at the kiss!

We prepared a special surprise for the group on the beach while they took photos! Mexican wedding cookies and champagne were served as a sweet treat in celebration of the couple, and guests mingled (still shaking their maracas) and enjoyed the rain-free moment!

When family photos came to an end, guests walked the cobblestone street one block to the villa where Mexican papel picado hung to welcome them to the wedding reception!

Behind the wooden doors, another rustic sign pointed them in the direction of a small garden walkway (where more papel picado was strung overhead) leading them to the back pool terrace and an amazing reception!

Special seating areas were created around the pool for guests to relax while they sipped cocktails and chatted away!

And in the center of it all was a most-amazing dinner table! When we set to designing this wedding, we knew that the family dinner table had to really stand out as the group would be seated at it, laughing and conversing throughout the night. We set the ambiance by hanging dozens of greenery-accented lanterns overhead and centered one natural chandelier over the middle of the table. A vintage suitcase, an eclectic grouping of rustic chairs, springs of rosemary with place cards and a variety of vessels for natural blossoms and candles set atop a sheer pearl runner adorned the wooden table and created a romantic scene for the night’s activities to unfold!

In keeping with the idea of organic simplicity, we placed a one-layer cake on a handmade tree trunk cake stand and highlighted the cake with scabiosa, lisianthus and curly willow.

Mary & Josh – Dreams PV

The vision: a tropical, spa-like, oasis feel with touches of Mexico! When Mary and Josh contacted us about their wedding, they had already decided on Dreams PV as the place to exchange their vows but wanted a personalized service, attention to detail and beautiful design for their wedding day – our specialty! We were a perfect fit from the start! They wanted everything very simple, nothing over-the-top. And, of course, unforgettable.

A palette of white, pool and royal blues with touches of fuschia and magenta was the perfect combination for the celebration! The lovely Mary carried a bouquet of roses, orchids, statice and lisianthus, and she looked radiant and oh-so-happy!

What is more tropical and a little spa-like than a palapa with white chiffon sheers? Unfortunately, there isn’t an already-existing one on the beach at Dreams . . . so we made one! This was our first time building a palapa, and let me tell you – it takes some serious planning and designing! Those palm fronds have to be dried and layered in a very specific pattern so that they lay correctly and look beautiful! Kudos to all the under-appreciated palapa-builders of the world! We learned how complicated it actually is!

Bamboo chairs were perfect for this beach ceremony, and turquoise pots filled with magenta statice lined the aisle. Simple and so strikingly beautiful. As a fun detail, we utilized reception fabric scraps to make “ribbon-style wands “to be waved in the breeze at the kiss!

Family and friends gathered on the beach for the intimate ceremony, and the couple said their I Do’s beneath perfectly sunny-but-not-too-hot skies – it could not have been a better day for a wedding!

Following the ceremony, guests were invited to Las Palmas Terrace for cocktails, dinner and hours of fun! Clean white lounging furniture was arranged throughout the terrace, and patterned turquoise and white pillows added a touch of the tropics! Royal blue and turquoise vases held simple fuschia rose arrangements and incorporated that POP of Mexico in to the scene!

The bride and groom were welcomed to the terrace with a round of applause from their guests, and took some time to take in the scenery and enjoy some cocktails themselves!

Nearby, one long dinner table dressed in crisp white linens awaited guests . Alternating centerpieces of blue vases with fuschia roses and mosaic-tile vessels with curly willow and orchids were the perfect decor for spa-like with a Mexican touch! At each place setting, a hand-carved wooden bowl with sand and an orchid brought a bit of the beach to the table, and guests were thrilled to take home the beautiful bowls as a memento of the wedding!

The intimate dinner of family and friends was made even more memorable by wonderful toasts, and then, in keeping with the idea of clean, simple and pretty, a two-layered square cake with an orchid detail was dessert! Yum!

Dancing ensued, and at the end of the evening’s festivities, the couple surprised their guests with a fire dance performance – the perfect way to end the night with a WOW!
