Jessica and Kenny were all about the fun. And the sparkly metallics. And the cotton candy. And . . . oh this could go on and on. We quickly discovered that Jessica and Kenny were anything but traditional; they are the definition of whimsy and fun. With a one-of-a-kind bouquet, a modern ceremony design, a festive and funky reception, glittered succulents, cotton candy, sparkles and more sparkles, hand-rolled cigars, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and so much more, this wedding was unforgettable!

We knew that nothing planned for Jessica and Kenny’s wedding would be ordinary; everything from the florals to the seating to the fashion needed to be not only unique but inspiring! With a palette of coral and turquoise, silver and gold and of course some clean white, the planning and design took off – and this is where we landed on wedding day:

A bouquet of spider mums, coral roses, wispy feathers, maracas and silver scabiosa was the perfect accessory for Jessica (and the rest of her Etsy-made accessories!)

A three-layer chiffon canopy awaited the bride and groom, and ottomans offered comfortable modern seating for guests! Sparkly succulents lined the aisle, and pillows in metallic silver and gold were placed on every other ceremony seat!

The couple did an amazing job of incorporating Jessica’s son into the ceremony! And he (as you will see later on) has the same spark and spunk as his mom!

While the bride and groom took romantic photos on the beach, guests were invited to the pool terrace where the fiesta was about to begin!

Cocktails, lounging areas and a photo station with Mexican-style props got the festivities started, and a live Latin trio added lively ambiance music.

One of the props for this photo station included some all-time-favorite maracas – hand-painted with a chevron design!

The bride and groom brought photos of their little family of three, and we clipped them to a line wrapped around a palm tree in the middle of the reception for all to see!

A chalkboard boasted the evening’s activities so that guests knew what to expect (and expected the unexpected later on at night)!

When they were all finished with photos, the bride, groom and Camden led the group around the pool in a traditional wedding parade; Jessica brought personalized handkerchiefs for the guests to wave during the parade in true New Orleans fashion!

Guests sat down to dine at a family-style table set with a light turquoise chiffon overlay, gold sparkly runner and centerpieces composed of wispy feathers, glittery succulents, candles and coral blooms. Sitting atop the napkin at each place setting was a silver succulent, and round place cards were displayed in the forks! Exposed bulb lighting danced overhead, and guests found themselves seated in an eclectic assortment of chairs – some with silver sparkly pillows for backrests, others reupholstered by our team in chevron or the chain-link turquoise fabric also used in the cocktail lounges! The “chair project” was one of our most fun in a long time, and the end result was fantastically unique and whimsical!

As dinner came to a close, guests were invited to relax again in the lounge areas surrounding the dance floor. The bride and groom swirled on to the dance floor. Then . . . the groom and Camden grooved their way on to the dance floor, and then Camden just stayed and showed off his seriously cool moves.

I am NOT kidding. This kid can dance. We’re talking Show-Stopper, Heart-Breaker. Watch out Jessica and Kenny – you are going to have a handful! He stops the ladies in their tracks.

And when the dancers needed a break, cigars were rolled, cotton candy eaten, props donned and photos taken! There was not one minute that wasn’t filled with incredible fun!

Toward the end of the festivities, we suprised the couple with a late-night snack! No tacos or churros this time! This snack had a story behind it!
At one point during the planning, Jessica was explaining to us how amazing it was that Kenny came into her life with Camden at just the right time. She said, “Kenny is the peanut butter to our jelly. “ And really, how could we let that go by without taking notice? We certainly couldn’t! Heart-shaped peanut butter and jelly sandwiches were served to guests and a great surprise for the couple!

To close out the celebration at the hotel, fire dancers paraded onto the terrace and shocked and wowed with an amazing display of talent in flames!

As the fire dance performance ended, we invited guests into vans and transported them to a nearby beach where candles lined the entrance and fire sky lanterns awaited them to release! The night was windy so not all of them went up successfully, but the adventure was SO much fun and guests mingled late-night with an acoustic guitarist on the beach!
