Jen & Jeff – Dreams PV

From the very beginning, Jen and Jeff expressed to us a clear vision for their wedding day:  Nothing overdone.  Natural beauty accented by simple touches of whites, creams and neutrals.  Romance.  A touch of vintage.  They wanted an atmosphere in which everyone could just get lost in the moment.  And their wedding day was all that and more – beginning with a rainbow streaked across the sky and ending with laughter drowning into the sounds of the ocean.

Jen and Jeff started their wedding day a bit less traditionally than most couples!  On a beautiful bridge, they had their “first look” prior to the ceremony, a chance for them to see each other all ready for the wedding but in a more intimate setting rather than in front of all seventy of their wedding guests!  And then they took off to downtown Puerto Vallarta for some fun photos at some of PV’s greatest photo ops!

The ceremony area was kept simple with a canopy draped in taupe and pearl fabrics highlighted with touches of greenery.  Simple wooden chairs preserved the natural look of the ceremony, and jars with wild flower bunches hung along the aisle.  Jen and Jeff exchanged vows in front of 70 of their closest family and friends with their toes in the sand and the waves crashing in the background.  The couple chose some of their favorite songs to accent the ceremony and, as a nod to their shared profession as teachers, a reading from a children’s book, The Velveteen Rabbit.

Following the ceremony, guests lounged on the beach enjoying cocktails in a natural chic lounge area and while listening to a Latin trio play lively tunes.

The bride and groom brought old family photos and we featured them alongside their guest frame for guests to sign.  The space was a really special nod to the people in their lives.
As carpooling to the elementary school where they both worked played a role in the beginning of their relationship, we surprised the bride and groom with a really fun photo station with “street signs” pointing to Bethune Elementary and the other to “Lincoln Park” where they lived!

Guests found escort cards buried in shallow sand and placed in a vintage piece of furniture that we brought to the beach.

Guests found their places at an eclectic blend of round and long dinner tables dressed with pearl shantung runners and varying bud vases and blooms.  Flatware was knotted together with twine and place cards and set atop pale green napkins to add a very light touch of color to the tables.  Table numbers were hand-painted on jars and lit with candles.

Guests dined by romantic light and then enjoyed simple (of course!) hand-crafted wedding cake and a dessert bar including fresh fruit tartlets, mini carrot cakes and pear pies and a taste of decadent chocomania!  Dancing ensued and night brought the end to an amazing celebration of love, family and friends!

Congratulations Jen and Jeff!  We loved working with you and your group of guests!!  What an amazing night!

A HUGE thank you to the amazing Amanda Wilcher for the photographs!
And, as always, thank you to Paulina Ulloa for being our staff portfolio photographer for this wedding!!!
